Intra-factory logistics in corrugated cardboard production

Corrugated cardboard is one of the most common types of packaging material. It is most often used in manufacturing to package finished products. This includes construction, pharmaceutical, and food companies. Cardboard boxes are used for practically everything, from cosmetics to automotive products. This high demand for corrugated cardboard once again confirms the promising future of corrugated cardboard manufacturing companies.

Corrugated cardboard production: how to optimize in-plant logistics

What is in-plant logistics in corrugated cardboard production? Tracking production schedules, timely ordering of raw materials and their delivery to the production floor, monitoring production and orders, moving finished products to the warehouse, their placement, and subsequent order picking—all of this is directly related to in-plant logistics.

To ensure this entire process runs smoothly and the plant operates like clockwork, human resources alone are not enough. Warehouse equipment is used at virtually every stage. It is precisely this equipment that enables materials and raw materials to be quickly delivered to the production lines and finished products to be distributed to their respective locations. That is why electric forklifts are an indispensable and integral part of the logistics process at a corrugated cardboard plant.

Types of equipment for corrugated cardboard manufacturing plants:

  • self-propelled electric trucks with side panels—this equipment is suitable for moving raw materials within the facility and transporting finished products, provided they are properly loaded onto the truck;
  • platform trucks for transporting cardboard without sides—their use is particularly relevant when the cargo is transported in the form of sheets. In this way, the finished cardboard is placed horizontally on the platform and moved smoothly;
  • The tricycle is suitable for transporting cargo in boxes or in bulk. It features side panels, preventing the cargo from tipping over during transport. Corrugated cardboard can be loaded onto the tricycle horizontally (if the cargo dimensions allow) or vertically;
  • electric pallet truck with a tilting (tipping) platform—ideal for moving corrugated cardboard in any form.

Platform electric pallet trucks are always essential equipment for corrugated cardboard manufacturing companies, regardless of production volume. Such equipment will always be used whenever cargo needs to be moved.
